H.D.S. / RJ45 DualBoot®
The H.D.S. system with direct RJ45 connectivity provides structured separation between the Ethernet connections of servers and the ports of network switches, particularly in high-density racks such as IBM® iDataPlex® rack systems.
The RJ45 sockets can be positioned directly at server level, meaning that only short patch cords, such as PushPull patch cords, are required for the connection.
As a result, the accessibility of the network components is significantly improved, making maintenance considerably easier. Most of the Ethernet cable harness is routed inside the rack, leaving more space in conventional cabling areas for other cable types, such as InfiniBand.
Optimised bend radii and application-specific cable lengths ensure efficient installation. Networks can be separated both logically and physically through the free selection of colours, while the assignment between switch ports and server ports can be defined as required. For example, ports from two switches can be positioned next to each other to maintain a direct one-to-one assignment to the server.
H.D.S. panels can be equipped and expanded flexibly according to the specific application requirements.
